As a avid train "nut" from back east, I finally got to ride the train (well, OK, light rail) from Mesa to Chase Field and back. Of course, living 35 mi east of Sky Harbour Int'l, we had to drive to Mesa where the rails start. Nice, inexpensive, and relaxing. Too bad the nations 5th largest city has no pax service to other cities unless you drive to Maricopa or Flagstaff. Let expand light rail in the valley and push for regular, frequent pax rail service to San Diego, LA, and Vegas.

My comment is, if China can afford high speed rail, and their economy - while growing - is still only the size of California's, and we have 49 additional states pumping our economy, why can't the US support high speed rail or virtually ANY train transit.
