Simply put, those of us in the US that want a broadly available and usable train system.

The hope is that we will see enough members join to begin to develop local or state based chapters that can lobby for trains across the country, eventually developing into a nation-wide train system that serves the need that currently exists and which demand will continue to grow.

We’ve been hearing more and more about gas prices. Ad nauseum. I’m tired of all the complaining. We have had years upon years of preparing for this day and we did not do it.

Some lady by the name of Twinkle is running for office in Alabama. Her campaign: She is Christian and a mother and also thinks we need to “DRILL NOW!”. Hmm. OK, so let’s rape and pillage the earth. Not only the earth, but the earth in our very own back yard. All so gas prices can – if we are lucky – come down a nickel for the next couple of years. Then we are still pushing off the inevitable… high gas prices. A handful of people will become rich if we drill off the US coasts. And the average American will be paying the same amount at the pump. DON’T FALL FOR THIS BUSH-PLOY TO GET HIS FRIENDS EVEN RICHER!!! Shame on John McCain for caving in.

When will we learn that we need to start PREPARING for a future? If we want a transportation system that may have a chance, we need to start looking at alternatives such as a mass TRAIN system.

That is what this site is about. To contribute thoughts and ideas to be able to build a system of trains like Europe and other parts of the world, and why this has not happened and does not seem to be gaining traction in the US.
